The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all peacekeeping and special political missions around the world as well as to other UN Offices, Agencies Funds and Programs.
This position is located in Warehouse & Distribution, Delivery and Return Section of the Supply Chain Service at the United Nations Global Service Centre, Brindisi, Italy. The Property Management Assistant is under the general supervision of the Warehouse & Distribution Team Lead and provides support to the Disposal Team.

Responsibilities

Within delegated authority, the Property Management Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
• Supports and coordinates all the operational disposal activities related to commercial sale, donation, destruction, cannibalization including receipt of written-off materials, lot composition, planning with contractors, handover of materials to final recipients.
• Assists in receiving the deliveries of mission supplies.
• Assists in conducting physical inspections and quality control of United Nations property to ensure that all items are accounted for and in serviceable condition.
• Ensures the anomalies/discrepancies are identified and reported in discrepancy reports and addressed immediately.
• Processes Goods Receipt reports in Umoja, if requested.
• Provides support in the maintenance of accurate and auditable property records in electronic inventory management system for property control and accountability in conformance with administrative instructions, guidelines, manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Updates physical verification records and data entry in electronic inventory management system as required.
• Assists stakeholders in application of property management policies and procedures to meet organizational standards and goals set up in the relevant Directives, Guidelines and SOPs.
• Assists in monitoring the execution of contracts for the disposal of property and supplies, including all types of waste material.
• Assists in preparation of equipment disposals and processing of disposal cases through relevant property survey boards.
• Assists in carrying out Board of Survey as and when required.
• Assist in management of disposal yard and safety of UN materials.
• Prepares statistical analysis and trend analysis on United Nations property.
• Performs other duties, as required.
