Org. Setting and Reporting
The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Supply Chain, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all Secretariat Entities, Peacekeeping and Special Political Missions, Agencies, Funds and Programmes of the UN system worldwide.
This position is located in the United Nations Global Service Centre, Brindisi (Italy) within the Office of the Director. The incumbent reports directly to the Senior Liaison Assistant.
Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Liaison Assistant at G6 level is responsible for the following duties:
• Drafts documents and papers for any communication purposes, verbal and written, such as meeting points, press conference, reports, social media updates etc.
• Assist the Senior Liaison Assistant in support of the creation of conditions for long-lasting partnerships.
• Coordinate information sharing on issues and projects of interest for the Organization and in support of the Agenda 2030.
• Assist in the organization of outreach activities to promote UNGSC and ensure accurate information dissemination on UNGSC role and mandate.
• Follow up on the implementation of proper mechanisms aimed at ensuring the smooth interaction with the host country counterparts.
• Provide advice on issues connected with MOU provisions, organization’s entitlements & UN Staff privileges and immunities.
• Liaise with military, local authorities and communities in order to implement constructive partnerships.
• Assist the Senior Liaison and Office of the Director with sensitization sessions and awareness campaigns.
• Produce thematic briefing papers required by the Senior Management.
• Document accurately local political, socio-economic related developments and facilitate communication between UNGSC staff and the local communities including by supporting accurate translation.
• Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
• Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Job - Specific Qualification
Training in communication, diplomatic protocol, community work, project preparation and monitoring, logistical, administrative issues is required.
A relevant certificate in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
Work Experience
At least seven (7) years of relevant work experience in protocol and liaison functions or related field is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to 5 for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher.
Experience of host country legal principles and institutional framework is desirable.
Experience in drafting official correspondence is desirable.
Experience in preparing presentation is desirable
Experience in project management is desirable.
Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
