Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is currently looking for a Field Operations Manager to develop humanitarian response program and build department strategy

Polish Humanitarian Action is a non-governmental organization providing humanitarian and development relief worldwide since 1992. So far, we have carried out interventions in 52 different countries, implementing projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Shelter, Education, Food Security and Livelihood and Psychological support. Our head office is located in Warsaw, we have also offices in Toruń, Olsztyn, Białystok as well as 6 national offices: in South Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Yemen, Madagascar and Ukraine, where we employ mainly local employees.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Planning and implementing a global strategy on the delivery of development and humanitarian aid. Developing related actions in this area
  • Preparation and recommendation for the implementation of emergency and development aid activities
  • Coordinating relationships between the Foundation’s internal departments
  • Implementing actions to optimize costs within the organization
  • Managing ongoing activities of subordinate division
  • Managing Field Operations Team (Emergency Relief Coordinators and Desk Officers), delegate tasks, performance review, and capacity building. Preparing and conducting internal training for employees and volunteers
  • Cooperation with external entities (incl. auditors and audit institutions)
  • Responsibility for security on foreign missions
  • Preparing financial plans and management of the department’s budget
  • Managing the flow of information
  • Representing the Foundation in external contacts, advocacy

The successful candidate will be selected based on the qualification requirements described below:

  • At least 7 years of professional experience in the humanitarian and development sector
  • Negotiation and project management skills
  • Experience managing at least a team of 6 members
  • Experience managing a project portfolio of at least 1 million USD in various geografical contexts (including East Africa)
  • Master's degree (international relations / management /or related)
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English (C1)
  • Willingness and no health contraindications to travels
  • Driving license
