Role overview
To support the clinical facilitation of students nurses, clinical officers and interns. Build the capacity of health workers in the hospital to provide bed-side teaching and implement competency based learning.
Support the roll-out of the national Nursing and Midwifery Curriculum by coaching tutors in the implementation and advising on additional adolescent friendly service provision and early essential newborn care.
Skills, qualifications and experience
The individual should be; Qualified Nursing professional specialized in Neonatal Nursing, have a minimum of 5 years proven professional experience, Fully accredited by the relevant professional body. Tutor/Mentor experience preferred.
This project is funded by Irish Aid’s Volunteering Initiative, which aims to promote volunteering within Ireland and the Irish public. Irish citizens or people living in Ireland are encouraged to apply.
Allowance and accommodation
All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.
VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
