Lebanon: Kindergarten French Teacher

1 – Responsibilities

  • The preschool teacher is responsible for the security, wellbeing and learning in French of the children she/he is in charge of from the moment they reach school until they leave.

  • She/he is the most able to detect eventual problems and should refer firstly to the coordinator and parents and head teacher and if necessary to the French office.

2 – Pedagogy

  • Design lessons according to the students’ needs and to the curriculum.

  • Plan learning activities (daily, weekly and annual programme) taking into account the class level objectives and curriculum and adapting it to the children needs and abilities.

  • Create the better learning environment within the classroom for young children.

  • Follow up students’ activities and productions (files, exercises books…)

  • Follow up and evaluation of students

  • Relations with parents (meetings, visits, achievements booklets…)

  • Organise with the help of the coordinator, visits, pedagogical activities and other extracurricular activities outside the school.

3 – Logistics

  • Responsible for the good use of pedagogical means and materials

  • Daily organisation of the class, tidy it up with the children participation and if necessary with the help cleaner and coordinator.

  • Evaluate her/his class needs and participate to the general need assessment and ordering process

  • Participate to her/his class inventory

4Administration

  • Participate to the training organised by the French office

  • Writing a quarterly activity report provided by the coordinator and transmitted to the French office.

  • Participate to the students enrolment

  • Follow up children attendance

  • Daily reporting if needs or on coordinator demand

  • Schedule: 7:15 to 14:00, and according UNRWA’s annual calendar.

  • Supervise and Follow up children in the playground

  • Participate to team meeting organised by the coordinator and the French Office
