Role overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced communicator with strong writing skills to join VSO's busy global content team at a particularly exciting time for the organisation. You'll play a crucial role helping deliver with a number of varied and interesting editorial projects, both for VSO and our flagship youth volunteering programme ICS.
Skills, qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate is an exceptionally talented writer, with solid experience in either a journalism or digital communications role. You should be able to handle a varied and busy workload and be happy to turn your hand to everything from interviewing inspiring young people, transcribing interview recordings, to adapting existing case studies for a range of channels and formats.
You'll have an eye for detail, and be keen to share ideas on how to best engage our various audiences through digital content.
Ideally, you will have some understanding of the principles of digital marketing and have a good grasp of modern SEO techniques. You will be comfortable using a digital content library and uploading content to a CMS.
Experience of working in the third sector would be a bonus, as would experience of volunteering or demonstrable interest in international development issues.
