Org. Setting and Reporting

This position is located in the Medical Insurance Section within the Financial Resources Management Service (FRMS) of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG).

Responsibilities

  1. Manages the overall operations of UNSMIS
  2. Establishes strategies and tools for the sound financial and business performance of UNSMIS
  3. Coordinates and maintains the governance system of UNSMIS
  4. Represents UNOG Medical Insurance Scheme, -and makes presentations on UNSMIS and topics relating to health insurance
  5. Exercises other managerial duties entrusted to the position

Education

  • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Economics, Finance or Business Administration.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with 2 additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • Formal certificate or training in insurance related fields is desirable.

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in insurance, finance, investment or business administration, of which at least 5 years with health insurance operations (self-insured and self-administered scheme) is required, preferably within the UN system.
  • Experience in managing a large team over 20 staff is desirable.

Languages

Fluency in both English and French is required.

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based
