PAH in Syria

For over three years Polish Humanitarian Action has been involved in projects addressed to people living in the northern parts of Syria. In October 2013 we have established permanent a mission in Turkey with fully operational office in Syria. Currently we undertake the projects in the sectors of WaSH, FSL, EP&R and medicines distribution.

Who PAH is looking for:

PAH in Turkey/Syria is looking for a Head of M&E. The person will hold the following responsibilities:

  • Draft and regularly update MEAL workplans and data collection plans on the mission.
  • Provide input to project proposal, review the logframe, the logic of intervention and budget of the projects.
  • Set up an adequate monitoring and evaluation system applicable for the whole programme(s) and draft M&E plan for each and every project according to general PAH M&E strategy and projects requirements.
  • Plan, prepare, organise and conduct monitoring and evaluation activities for all projects (including baseline and end-line surveys, Post Distribution and Post Intervention Monitoring, mid-term and post-project evaluation etc.) and provide support to external evaluators as required.
  • Analyse existing M&E structure and tools and generate new ones if need arises.
  • Implement electronic, mobile data collection systems in the M&E or MEAL processes.
  • Manage and supervise M&E team on the mission to ensure they deliver on all internal and external MEAL requirements in a timely manner and with high quality information.
  • Carry out or assist in trainings, learning events for enumerators and M&E officers.
  • Fully implement the PAH M&E system, accountability and quality improvement measures on the mission.
  • Promote and strengthen the understanding of the importance of MEAL within the organization.

What PAH requires:

  • Higher education, at least Bachelor degree in related field;
  • Experience in NGO and humanitarian assistance sector and projects (3-5 years);
  • Previous experience on similar position in M&E, MEAL tasks and assignments (minimum 2 years);
  • Experience in humanitarian projects or programmes concerned with Syria (minimum 1 year);
  • Previous experience in leading the team (minimum 1 year) ;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong focus on results and achievement of personal and team results;
  • Cultural sensitivity;
  • Excellent skills in oral and written English is a must;
  • Good Turkish, Arabic is an asset;
  • Knowledge of IT software such as Kobo, IformBuider, SPSS or other relevant is an asset;
  • Knowledge and experience in projects in WASH, Shelter, NFI and FSL sectors is an asset.

  • Monthly salary based on experience;
